A community boasting deep religious roots, Winston County has long been a place where the value of "hearth and home" is respected and preserved. Among the church-related services are the police department chaplaincy, a literacy ministry, and the Christian Friends Ministry Center, which attends to the needs of the underpriviledged in the county. A multitude of civic and fraternal organizations allow Winston County residents to get involved in projects on local, national, and international levels.
